About Adrian Rooke

Who Am I

Adrian RookeMy name is Adrian Rooke. I am a person-centered; solution-focused counselling practitioner and supervisor. I have over 20 years of experience and whilst my approach has been eclectic and holistic I have specialised in addictions therapy and act as a consultant within this field . I have worked closely with people with issues relating to drugs, alcohol, gambling and the many other facets of addiction.

I am also a qualified family therapist, offering family members a way forward, supporting them to access coping strategies to focus on their own lives. This work has included one-to-one counselling, couples counselling and group therapy.

The human journey is not easy for anyone and I have been blessed over the years to have been able to help many people make positive changes to move their lives forward.

Sometimes life seems to completely overwhelm us, problems build up in our minds, and we can’t see a way forward. We have often sought advice from friends and family, but sometimes we need the help and support that can be offered from a professional, removed from our environment.

There are many reasons that people seek professional help, here are some of them:-

  • Excessive drinking
  • Craving and dependence on drugs – prescribed and/or non prescribed
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Facing life changes – retirement, divorce, redundancy
  • Coping with chronic illness
  • Childhood trauma – emotional/ physical abuse
  • Loss of direction – meaning/purpose of life
  • Relationships – maintaining and/or creating/ending
  • Bereavement – death

I specialise in working with all family members, friends etc caught up in the consequences of Addiction
